Passages for 1/11: Apara, Caroline, Chiara, Colin, Emma O, Emma S, Gabby



Pick out one important passage from the reading (at least 5 lines but no longer than a page). Comment on this post, and share your passage. You don't need to type out the whole passage.     Why do you think Mona and her mother are so volatile? Do you think one of them is 'right'?

    Why is Seth taking the disbandment of Camp Gugelstein so poorly? Why does he keep saying that he was naive?

    "Is Barbara going to keep on at her job at the pancake house, what with school starting and all?...So why does Mona decide it's finally time to sleep together?"

    Why does Seth decide to "give up Judaism" after the fallout of Camp Gugelstein? By having sex with Seth, does Mona think it will revive the "old Seth" and remind him that the failure of Camp Gugelstein shouldn't impact his Jewishness? Why does she have sex with him, if she decides to break up with him shortly after?

    Why does Seth want to get back with Mona so badly? Did he really love her?
